Happy Easter!

We had a great meeting at church today, the spirit was present and we were all reminded of the reason that we celebrate this Easter holiday.  May we all remember the Savior and his sacrifice and love for each one of us.

Our kids made an Easter basket for the parents this year, filling plastic eggs with jelly beans and little strips of paper with reminders of why they love us on them.  It was so thoughtful, I love my kids so much.  Happy Easter everyone!!

First Easter Egg Hunt

We had a great afternoon at Grandma & Grandpa Lawlor's today hunting for eggs, visiting, and having a picnic lunch.  It's always fun to get the cousins together for any playdate, but holidays are extra special.  Thanks for a fabulous day!

2013 Cubscout Pinewood Derby

Ben designed his car this year as a Wii remote, or a game controller.  We got lots of compliments on his creativity, even though it wasn't the fastest car at the race it was certainly popular.  We had a great time and Ben showed awesome sportsmanship as usual.  Good job Ben!

Healthy F.H.E.

Tonight, at the request of one of my doctors, we had a family home evening lesson on healthy eating.  Each child (and grownup) was assigned a vegetable to research, and present to the family the health benefits of that specific veggie.  Austin had carrots, I had green beans, Ember had cucumbers, Ben had zucchini, and Grace had broccoli.  We had a sample of each vegetable cooked different ways (raw, boiled, steamed, sauted) and each kid had to eat a plate full of veggies before we were allowed to dish out the lasagna.  The night was a huge success, and because the kids did the research themselves, they were excited to eat their own vegetable!  Maybe somebody has a new favorite, or a new appreciation for healthy eating.  What a fun and healthy night!
(Ben learned that zucchini helps in the production of sex hormones... I'm just sayin').

Field Trip!

Today I chaperoned Ben's 5th grade field trip to the Flight Center at Lowell Elementary School.  He got to sit in a helicopter, fly a simulator, conduct flight experiments about air flow, play with the simulators on the computer, and have a blast.  I'm glad I could go spend the day with my favorite son!  :)
